Troubleshooting Yacht Protector - Wireless Monitoring

-

A sensor light is purple

The sensor is not in communication with the core or the core is not in contact with the server.

First be sure that nothing is blocking reception between the sensor and the core and it is within 40ft of the core. Imagine a line of sight between the core and sensor and be sure there are no significant barriers that would interfere in the communication such as metal panels, generators, heavy objects, special insulation, major electrical or electronic components etc. etc. Reception will also be improved if the sensor is mounted a small distance away from obstructions so that the signal waves are not blocked so do not butt a sensor against a bulkhead for example. The sensors will transmit through fiberglass and most other objects without any problem. Reawaken a purple sensor by merely pressing on the rest button for a few seconds or do a relink of the sensor with the core if required.

You can also see immediately if the issue is somehow that the core is not in contact with the server. Merely look at your app and you can see the last transmission of the core to the server when you press the center wheel. It is the top information ba.

Make sure the vessel is in an open area for maximum satellite reception. (For example: if it is stored inside of a building the GPS will not be as accurate.). Ensure that your GPS antenna is placed inside the boat in the best position where it can “see the sky”, the supplied antenna wire can allow you to mount the GPS in such a strategic location.
